In the "god damn, I didn't expect that" category this past week is Three 6 Mafia member Juicy J, who recently dropped a remix of labelmate Passion Pit's mellow cut "Constant Conversations". J's remix holds on to the smooth, seductive rhythms and falsetto samples, which serve as a surprisingly perfect fit for his crisp verses. The footage is from the duo performing and even has a cameo from Juicy J taking to the stage for his verse. I seems like artists are eager to make 2012 their own and rightly so. Juicy J last night took to his Youtube account to upload two new videos for tracks that feature on his latest mixtape,  Blue Dream & Lean. The first video is for The Weeknd sampling "Lucky Charm" and the second is for "Countin' Faces" both of which are viewable via Rap Radar/Prefix. The former is at the top featuring a shower scene with a lovely looking lady and "Countin' Faces" (after the jump) features a lot of overlapped and faded imagery. Both are pretty simplistic whilst still offering up a nice accompaniment to JJ's tracks. See what you make of them. On a side note, I can't get enough of Echoes of Silence, is it just me or is The Weeknd set to have one hell of an impressive year!?

Members of the Odd Future gang seem to be grinding hard these past few weeks and two new Hodgy Beats featuring tracks have appeared online over the past few days adding more evidence to the formwr statement. First up is a track titled "BKLYN" which features production credits from Thelonious Martin. Hodgy let the track loose via his usual method of hitting up his Tumblr page. The second track is from MellowHigh, MellowHype + Domo Genesis. The track also features a helping hand from Juicy J. Spin them both below and look alive as it would appear these guys are going to be releasing multiple projects this year under a few different monkers.

[Listen] Star Slinger - "Chain Dumbin'" Feat. Feat. Juicy J, Project Pat & Reggie B

Manchester based Star Slinger has just offered up a reworking of his previous Green Label Sound single, "Dumbin'". The new version of the track is titled "Chain Dumbin’" and features Juicy J, Project Pat and Reggie B spitting some rhymes over Star Slinger beats. I'm yet to dislike anything Star Slinger has thrown up online and this hasn't broken the streak. See if you agree by taking a listen to it below.
