[Watch] Pulp - "Mis-Shapes" Live at The NME Awards 2012
Another performance to take away from this year's NME Awards has to be Pulp's, who last summer united for a string of Festival appearances, even having a cheeky cameo from Julian Casablancas at Reading Festival in the UK! At the awards ceremony they performed "Mis-Shapes" taken from their 1995 album, Different Class. It seemed to go down very well with the audience and it saw Jarvis pulling out a few Thom Yorke-esque dance moves on stage. Peep it at the top to see what I'm talking about.
[Watch] The Strokes & Jarvis Cocker - "Just What I Needed" (The Cars cover) (Live At Reading Festival)
Julian Cassablancas and crew are joined by Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker to perform a cover of The Cars 1978 self titled debut classic "Just What I Needed" at this year's Reading Festival. Take a look at the live vid from BBC Three's broadcast above courtesy of Birds Need Feet. Still fiending for more music from The Strokes Reading set, check out the full performance here.
[Listen] Boys Noize & Erol Alkan - "Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)" Feat. Jarvis Cocker
Take two of the biggest names in electronic music, pair them up with a legend in his own right, Jarvis Cocker, and what do you get? An avalanche, that's what. A track called "Avalanche (Terminal Velocity)" has surfaced and it's a goodie. The track is a little dark and full of Boys Noize glitchey type stuff we've come to expect from the German producer and the well rounded English Erol Alkan has helped craft the track into reverb filled banger. The cherry on the top comes from Jarvis Cocker and his distinctive yet creepy vocal work. It simply makes a good track awesome.
This one will be getting a lot of play in the coming Summer month(s). Check it out below and turn it up loud.
[Watch] Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Lisa Hannigan - "Silent Night"
You guys better be constantly chewing on candy canes and be covered in tinsel by now, because we are quickly approaching Christmas! I don't know about you, but I am loving how many artists are spreading the holiday cheer this year (even if some of them may be doing it JUST for marketing purposes only). Here we have Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker and Lisa Hannigan performing the Christmas classic, "Silent Night". Loving every moment of it.
