[News] Bestival Announces Line-Up Additions; Beck & Foals join Outkast as headliners
Bestival has just announced its initial line-up and it's going to be hard to beat in terms of ending your summer on a high in 2014. Beck and Foals will top the bill at the event, joining the returning duo of Outkast, as announced last week. The rest of the acts announced are Disclosure, Major Lazer, Sam Smith, CHVRCHES, London Grammar, Wild Beasts, Caribou, Clean Bandit and Laura Mvula.
As is tradition with the festival, it will have a theme and this year it's 'Desert Island Disco'. I think opens up a few more options compared to 2013's nautical 'HMS Bestival' theme so get your thinking caps on if you're planning on grabbing a ticket.
Bestival takes place from September 4th-7th on the Isle of Wight and tickets are on sale now.

As we mentioned earlier the festival line-ups are coming in thick and fast and Manchester's very own Parklife Weekender, organised by the people at Warehouse Project, have just released the initial bill. For an event that's been growing year on year since its inception, it seems they've delivered once again as it's pretty damn big! Snoop Dogg and Foals top the bill on the main stage in the evenings while throughout the bill are big names. Bastille, Disclosure, Katy B, Soul II Soul, Danny Brown, Public Enemy, Seth Troxler, Chromeo, Moderat, Maya Jane Coles, London Grammar, Mount Kimbie, and a UK festival exclusive from Kendrick Lamar. It's sure to be a huge weekend. Check out the full line-up so far here.
With more announcements to come, who knows what other surprises the team has in store. The event takes place in Manchester's Heaton Park on the weekend of June 7th-8th and you can pick up tickets from £79.50 for the full weekend, or £49.50 for a day ticket over on parklife.uk.com.
[Watch] Foals Cross the Desert in the Video for "Bad Habit"
Foals have tapped the talent of Nabil Elderkin once before, where he directed their dark, dingy video for "Late Night." The two parties have teamed up again, this time to give the Holy Fire track "Bad Habit" the visual treatment. It follows lead singer Yannis Philippakis as he trails behind a naked woman across the desert. Watch it below.
[Watch] Foals - "Late Night" (NSFW)
Foals' channel their gritty Holy Fire track "Late Night" into a grimy, sexual visual feast, one that stems from the mind of a Palahniuk or Cronenberg. Set in a dingy Romanian hotel, the video sees the UK rockers performing in the hotel bar, while upstairs things get dirtier and more sinister. In the upper floors, a man and woman have rough sex, another woman is going through child birth, and a man finds himself alone indulging in autoerotic asphyxiation. This Nabil Elderkin-directed clip is definitely not fitting for the workplace.
[Listen] Foals - "My Number" (Hot Chip Remix)
Hot Chip ups the ante on Foals' dancey single "My Number", adding flourishing, sun-tinged synthesizers and a pulsating 4/4 beat to a dancefloor-ready remix. Acid house influences seep through every second of the three-minute remix, but the highlight is the pacing, which slows it down when appropriate but never fully kills the quick tempo and bouncing rhythms. Stream it below.
Foals new album Holy Fire is out now.
[Watch] Foals - "Milk & Black Spiders" (Official Video)
Foals shift away from the danceability and slick visuals of "My Number", changing their focus to the moody CCTV footage of "Milk & Black Spiders". With our eyes fixed solely on the band rehearsing the song, the execution is simple but effective, forcing us to pay attention to the intricacies of the gloomy track. Catch the replay above.
Holy Fire, Foals' newest album, is out now.
[News] Biffy Clyro, System of a Down, Foals and Fall Out Boy Announced for Reading and Leeds Festival
Well isn't this a turn up for the books. Following them scoring their first ever number one album this past weekend with, Opposites, Biffy Clyro have just been announced as the second headliner this year at Reading and Leeds festival set to take part over the bank holiday weekend in August. Eminem has previously been announced to be headlining with Deftones, Boy Better Know, Alt-J and Subfocus also already being announced.
Along with the headliner slot beign announced, System of a Down, Foals, Bring Me The Horizon have been added to the slot. Last time SOAD played Leeds festival, the crowd went so nuts the barrier at the front collapsed. The bar is set pretty high, and I'll expect it to be just as crazy in the pits this time around some 8 years after their last set at the festival. Following the news of Fall Out Boy's return yesterday they too have been added to the weekend. Hundreds of more bands are yet to be added to the weekend including one more headliner of the main stage. We'll update you once they're announced.

[Watch] Foals - "My Number" (Official Video)
Foals blew us away last fall with two great singles, "Inhaler" and "My Number". Now, the latter, with its electro-tinge and frantic guitar riffs, has a companion video, which expertly drags us throughout one of the band's gigs. Check out the flashy, drug-fueled experience above.
"Inhaler" and "My Number" are the first two singles from the band's third album Holy Fire, which is out on February 12th.
