[Listen] Patrick Stump - "Everyday" (Buddy Holly Cover)
It seems like we've had an abundance of Buddy Holly covers in the past six month. Firstly we got covers from the likes of Julian Casablancas and Florence and the Machine who had contributed to the Rave On Buddy Holly. Now another compilation has come about, this time to celebrate what would have been Buddy's 75th Birthday and it goes by the name of Listen To Me: Buddy Holly. It will feature the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Cobra Starship, Brian Wilson, Stevie Nicks, Ringo Starr and the man who's track you can listen to below, Patrick Stump. Covering "Everyday", he adds some strings and female vocals to the mix differing from the original version that featured on Holly's self-titled 1958 debut. Listen to Patrick's cover in full below via Spin and look out for the compilation which drops on September 6th.

Today though, instead of a track here and there every few weeks we have the full album stream for you to enjoy.
Take some time out of your day to listen to some of the industries modern day greats laying down tribute to the late great Buddy Holly on this compilation album. Go grab a copy of the album when it hits stores next week on June 28th. Happy humpday peeps.

[Listen] Modest Mouse - "That'll Be The Day" (Buddy Holly Cover)
Last Wednesday we got to hear the garage rock duo of Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney aka The Black Keys put their own touch on Buddy Holly's "Dearest". The track was taken from the Rave On Buddy Holly album which is set to be released on June the 28th via Fantasy/Concord. The name of artists featuring on the album was pretty impressive and today we have another little treat for you to whet your appetites further.
Below you can check out Modest Mouse's take on "That'll Be The Day" which originally featured on Buddy Holly's 1958 album of the same name. The track will sit along side the Black Keys cover as well as input from She & Him, Cee Lo Green, Paul McCartney and Julian Casablancas just to name a few. Happy Monday guys. A nice way to start the week if I ever did see one.
Removed by request of the label. Womp. Womp. :( But you can still take a listen to the track on this week's Liza Richardson's show on KCRW.
