[Listen] Ben Howard - "Figure 8" (Ellie Goulding Cover) in Radio One's Live Lounge
Today's guest in Radio One's Live Lounge was the talented Mr. Ben Howard who brought along his backing band to put in some spine tingling performances of his recent singles but he also put in a fantastic cover. After performing "Esmerelda", "Only Love", "Keep Your Head Up" and a personal favourite track of mine at the moment, "Oats in the Water", he opted to take on Ellie Goulding's current single "Figure 8". It's nice to see a UK artist going from strength to strength Stateside and last night Ben Howard had a good ol' workout with another visit to the late night TV circuit. We've already seen him perform on David Letterman and that was then followed by a nod from the UK media when he was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. [News] Mercury Music Prize Nominations Announced
Last night the nominations for the Barclaycard Mercury Music Prize were announced and it's full of some of our favourite albums from the past 12 months. In past years we've seen PJ Harvey, The xx and Arctic Monkeys take the honour and the £20000 cheque home but this time it'll be be between the list below. Well isn't this a nice treat to end the week on... Last night the talented Mr. Ben Howard made his US television debut with a visit to the Ed Sullivan Theatre and the Late Show with David Letterman. He performed his recent single "Only Love" and delivered a top notch rendition for the masses at home. Watch it again at the top courtesy of The Audio Perv.

We got to see Hot Chip perform on last night's Later... with Jools Holland but also on the show for our enjoyment was the awesome talent known as Ben Howard. Performing his impeccable track "The Wolves", you can enjoy the performance again and again up at the top courtesy of the BBC themselves who've uploaded all of the performances from the show to their official Youtube channel.

Ben Howard is a young talent that released his album Every Kingdom late last year to an ever growing fan base. Earlier this week he was the guest on Radio One for their weekly Live Lounge section. While there he played his single "Only Love" but as you may be aware of by now, the live lounge gives birth to some great covers and this week was no different. Ben covered Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call me Maybe". Yes. That highly catchy song that my work colleagues enjoy singing to me daily as they know I have a dislike of it. Still, this version I can listen to without wanting to stick a pen in my ears. Check it out at the top.

Last week the talented Mr Ben Howard show paid a visit to Maida Vale studios to perform some of his tracks for Radio One's Zane Lowe and whilst their played the fantastic sounding track, "Black Flies".
