[Watch] Animal Collective's Avey Tare Performs Four New Tracks

We quite enjoyed Animal Collective's man Avey Tare and his solo release Down There when it dropped in late 2012. Over a year later though, the good folk over at 130BPM now point towards some footage of Avey performing new material. The fan shot footage is taken from Avey's current tour and is from a few different locations but it gives you a taste of where he's headed. Titles include "Song For Jerome", "In Photographs", "Slow Words,” and an untitled track. Give the videos a watch at the top and after the jump and keep your eyes peeled for some new material from Avey in the new year. It'll be good to hear some studio versions of these.

[Watch] Avey Tare - "Oliver Twist" (Official Video)

It's been a while since we posted anything Avey Tare related but today comes a trippy, head messing, eye bending video for your viewing entertainment today. The video is for his Down There track "Oliver Twist" and the video sees a cartoon land unfold before our very eyes, but this is no Jungle Book. The main character is eaten by a croc early on once his soul has left his body and the rest just sort of snowballs from there. In short I think the top Youtube comment says it all "Warning: Do not watch on LSD". I'll leave you to hit play above. Hat tip to Stereogum for the heads up on this one. If you want to pick up the Down There LP it's available over here.

[Watch] Animal Collective debuts nine new songs live in California

Last night, psychadelic band Animal Collective kicked off their five day California tour, which will build up to their appearance at this years Coachella Festival, at the Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma, California. Not only are the boys playing the shows in order to build up to Coachella, but they're also using them to showcase some new music. According to the band's message boards, they played nine new songs at the show last night, several of which you can watch after the jump, courtesy of YouTube user erasmustyc. As of yet, there has been no word of whether or not any of this new material is hinting at the follow-up to 2009's Merriweather Post Pavilion, but we'll all just have to wait and see.

[Watch] Avey Tare - "Lucky 1"

As mentioned the other day the Animal Collective man, Avey Tare has gone solo and we also had a taste of the first single from his soon to be released album. He has now posted the video for the track online which you can check out above. The album Down There is out on October 26th and if this tracks anything to go by, it could be a pretty interesting listen. The video features an some weird crocodile imagery and reminds me of looking into kaleidoscope when I was a kid. It's pretty intense.
