[Listen] Eleven - "Rosebleed"

It's been 20 years since Eleven released their debut Awake In A Dream and to celebrate they will be letting loose a new release, Rarities. Our good friends over at Antiquiet spoke with Alain earlier in the year whilst he was on tour and he said:

"One month before Natasha got diagnosed with cancer, her, Jack Irons and I got together for two days and recorded five songs, but didn’t finish the words or melodies. So now I’m just getting the nerve to go and try to finish those songs, or maybe just leave them as it is. It’s some of our most powerful, muscular stuff."

The Rarities release will be a result of these sessions and is expected for release on 11/11/11. It will feature 8 unreleased tracks which were recorded between Thunk and Avantgard and will be the bands first release since 2003. It will also feature both original drummer Jack Irons and Greg Upchurch.

Now, today we get to listen to our first taste of Rarities once again thanks to our boys at Antiquiet. The track is titled "Rosebleed" and as Alain put it, it features som "insane Natasha clavinet and moog bass". Check it out in all it's glory below. Pollen Records will be putting out a Limited Edition 10” vinyl of  "Rosebleed" and it'll available this Summer along with a digital release on iTunes. For more details head on over to the official Eleven site. Of course, hit play below first and enjoy the 6 minutes of goodness.

[Watch] Alain Johannes - "Endless Eyes"

Check out this awesome video of Alain Johannes performing his single "Endless Eyes" whilst sitting on the bow of a boat floating around on the Norwegian Fjord. Firstly the setting of this video is beautiful. Secondly Alain can play that cigar box better than I've ever seen anyone rock one! He just rips it and his voice is solid throughout. Enjoy this top class rendition of the track and if you're yet to pick up his debut solo effort Spark, then head on over here to grab yourself a copy. You won't be disappointed.

[Listen] Alain Johannes - "Spark" Full Album

When this album was first put on my desk I didn't fully know what to expect. I knew Alain was a very talented man, given his previous involvement in a range of quality bands and the fact that when he was given the stage to himself during a Them Crooked Vultures set he just riffed blues for 5 minutes until Josh and co returned to the stage! His debut solo effort is a joy to listen to and his skills on the cigar box guitar will leave you open mouthed. Listen to then full album below, you won't regret it and don't forget to pick up the album upon it's release tomorrow over here.
